Child Sponsorship Program

In the beginning of the
year 2006, we launched Bless
a Child Sponsorship Program.
This project is for men and
women who with their
compassionate response to the
need of children, gave $25 a
month to sponsor a child which
provides not just a good
balanced meal once a week,
but also sends a child to
school and pays for their tuition,
school supplies and uniforms..
The greatest impact this project
has on every child is by being
able to give them a chance to
be valued and cared for and a hope for their future. It
gives me great joy to let you know that as of the
beginning of the 2006-2007 school year in the
Philippines, we have 35 sponsored children. Our goal is
that by next school year which starts in June of 2007, we
will have sponsors for 100 children. The need is great,
please pray for the Lord’s provision.
Here’s a story that will warm your heart...
Wennie Pacquit is a 52 year old woman with 8 children.
Her husband drives a truck for a living but only on
demand. In other words, it’s not consistent. To help
provide for
the family,
Wennie cooks
rice cakes
and peddles it
in the
neighborhood
to acquire
what little
profit she can.
Survival for
this large
family is very difficult. Then one day, Wennie heard
about the work of Mindanao Blessings International.
She asked if her 2 younger children could be recipients
of the program. She was told yes they can. Since then,
her children never miss coming to the feeding center,
where they receive not just delicious and nutritious food
for their bodies but more than that. Wennie says, “they
learned to sing songs to praise and thank the Lord and
the good news of Jesus’ plan for our lives. My girl, Jessa
May Pacquit is ever grateful to have the opportunity to
go to school through the Child Sponsorship Program of
MBI. The program gave her self-confidence, value, and
trust in God’s provision. In my gratefulness to God and
to MBI for these blessings to my family, I volunteered to
come to the feeding center and help in every way I can.
And every time I come, Pastor James’ mother lays her
hands on my neck and prays for a miraculous touch from
the Lord for my goiter. I am believing God for His
healing. I do not have enough words to express how
much I thank God for the work of MBI and for how God
used this ministry to bless my family.” |
